Kerrie's Blog: What I learned from Lady GaGa

What I learned from Lady GaGa

Lady GaGa

I had the pleasure of attending Lady GaGa's concert the other night in Tacoma, WA.  My friends and I were excited to attend as we love her music and have heard nothing but great things about her show.

Great doesn't even begin to justify what went on.  She came out onto the stage like she belonged there, like it was her living room.  Her voice, choreography and outfits were simply amazing.  At one point she was jamming on the piano with her stiletto boot...did i mention the piano was on fire?

I admit I have cried at concerts.  Music moves my soul and I can be a lil bit of a sucker at times.  I never in a million years thought I would cry at a Lady GaGa show.

She is all about the equality of people and pushing her "little monsters" to be the best and do their best.  To not care what people think is tough but she is living proof of how freeing it can be.  She said to us "Do not leave here loving me more....leave here loving yourself more."

So, if I get nervous in front of a bunch of people..*cough cough* RainCamp....I am going to think back to Miss GaGa and remember her words.  If I wonder "Can I really start dance classes again at my age" I will think Lady G would say "Hell yes".
Anything is possible and I'm grateful for my most recent reminder.

Kerrie, you are the envy of my daughter - she would love to see Lady Gaga and that you shared your experience with us makes her sound pretty amazing!  ~ Susan

Hi Kerrie,  1st you were GREAT at RainCamp in Boston, I know this, because I sat next to you during the panel discussion!  Yes, take dance lessons, and dance to your heart's content...  I also come from a musical family and love music, it's in my soul... The best thing that you probably learned was; act like you belong where you are planted and that's why you are so successful!   Finally, WOW, you got to see Lady Gaga in person!!!   ;>))

Most downloaded video, Bad Romance, in the history of Youtube. Got to give the lady credit for knowing how to market herself, and being a good performance.

Kerrie, I tried to get tickets to her concert and couldn't. I am glad you had a great time & were touched by her intense individualism. She is a pretty cool chick indeed!

Did you hoot holler or  wear a poker face thru the entire concert?

Kerrie, I don't get it, for me there's only one special woman in the Rain that's worth getting GaGA over! Care to guess? Although I do understand she puts on quite a show just because of her energy

Kerrie - An inspirational blog about Lady Gaga? Hey, anything is possible!

We are true believers in the power of thought and focus. Anyone can do anything if they really focus, and act, on it!

So go dance, Kerrie, dance!

Sounds like a great time.  I have to admit, I am so far out of the loop with music, so Lady GaGa means nothing to me.  But the experience you describe at the concert reminds me of many I have been to.

What I learned from Lady GaGa is that I'd love to have her tatoo artist, and her hair dresser. . .LOL

That's a great story - espeically how you can relate a very personal experience to all aspects of your life. We could all learn from that!

Great post Kerrie!

Every musician has to decide how to promote themselves. How much to spend on the next concert series. Whether to pull back or go big.

Good themes for a real estate agent.

This decade's marketing genius - Lady Gaga.  She definitely knows how to be assertive, aggressive, and proactive - good lessons for anyone whose career touches "sales".  Great post, and I love this: "Do not leave here loving me more....leave here loving yourself more."

It's funny who we can draw inspiration from these days huh !!!

GaGa has taken her art form to amazing heights since bursting onto the scene, owing most of it to her "Just go for it" attitude - so yes, I think you can go for those dance lessons too ;o)

Cheers Kerrie !!

Kerri - At YOUR age??? You are still a baby!!!! I went to graduate school after I came back to this country with two small kids and worked days, attending grad school at night - I was 47 when I got my MA - you are so young, the world is still in front of you! You can do ANYTHING you want to do!!! Remember that always!!!! "The world is your oyster" were my Dad's words to me all the time and I pass those words of wisdom down to you!

Got to love it when you go out for a night of enjoyment and get the bonus of a life lesson.  I love live concerts and have been going to them since "Sonny and Cher" were a couple.  But almost every time I have left feeling wonderful and so fulfilled.

My dear sweet Kerrie,  You are an amazing young woman that oozes talent, warmth and beauty, inside and out.  Don't you ever be afraid to try new things.  Never worry that it's too late to go for anything you dream of. You have the world in front of you and the world has big things heading your way.  That I'm sure of!

From the moment I met you at Raincamp I knew you were special.  Honestly.  You will do big things in your lifetime and already do.  As Alan stated, you are magical :)

Even though I"m an old fart, I really do respect Lady Gaga for being who she is and not caring what others think.

I haven’t been to a concert in years. Maybe decades. I find the tickets to be too expensive. That and the last concert I went to I just couldn't handle the marijuana smoke anymore.
