Kerrie's Blog: Success in the Rain

Success in the Rain

Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Last night I attended a performance by my king, Dave Matthews at a local mall.  Random, right?!?  The new Microsoft store opened and he was there to kick it off.  Anywho....he was talking about how we should be thankful for all the things around us and it really got me thinking.  I have so much to be thankful for.  Health, work, friends, love, family....everything seems to be in alignment.  The pessimist in me keeps waiting for the bubble to burst but I've decided I'm going to enjoy this ride.

ActiveRain has a ton to do with my happiness and success.  It's furthered my social media education, put me in touch with lifelong friends and provided me with an amazing environment to work in.  Margaret Woda said to me recently, "I bet you didn't know you'd have your dream job on your first interview."  She's right...I had no idea that I would be a part of something so much bigger than I ever anticipated.

Every Thanksgiving dinner we go around the table and share with one another what we're grateful for.  This year I'll be taking a bit longer than usual.

Ok, that's it....I'm done with the sappy stuff....for now :)  Check out some of our wonderful member's success stories below and I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

If you have yet to write your own success story, I urge you to do so.  Simply go to your profile page and click "edit" located next to My Profile (edit). Scroll down until you see the spot designated for your ActiveRain Success Story.  Keep in mind this will not show on your AR profile but will be available to view on the ActiveRain Success Stories link located on our home page.  Not only are all the cool kids doing it but you'll be awarded 500 points!!!

"ActiveRain provides an enormous forum through which you can get the best education about real estate practices from people who are willing to share their experiences and ideas. You can ask questions, search on just about any topic for information, find's the equivalent of a Training and Development Department. You just can't get enough Rain! I know blogging through AR is going to have outstanding results, too. Now...if I could just get myself off AR long enough to sleep at night..."

David Beckham- Your Alexandria Louisiana Real Estate Connection (Century 21 Millennium): Real Estate Agent in Alexandria, LA David Beckham (Century 21 Millennium)
"I have been able to increase my internet presence because of ActiveRain. What I have found is that this is the best service available to Realtors out of all available sites, including I have received numerous buyer and seller referrals from ActiveRain and it is a phenominal tool! I just received three listings from another agent on ActiveRain...That is a success story that I will blog once I get them SOLD!"

Moataz Ghounem, Nationwide Homes (Nationwide Homes): Real Estate Agent in Brookfield, CT Moataz Ghounem (Nationwide Homes)
"I love being a part of the Active Rain communtiy. Nowhere else can you find such a wealth of information about the trade. Real Estate Professionals who take their business seriously use Active Rain."

Mike Mitchell - REALTOR® - St. Clair Shores, MI (Real Living Kee Realty): Real Estate Agent in Saint Clair Shores, MI Mike Mitchell (Real Living Kee Realty)
"Since joining Active Rain almost 2 years ago I have learned so much about SEO and web marketing that it is unbelievable. In addition, the networking opportunities and information about the real estate industry in general is invaluable. I have excellent page ranking on multiple search engines now, where 2 years ago I don't even know where I ranked it was so far back. This has been beneficial for my listing clients as I get maximum exposure for their listings, and I've also received so many leads from buyers and sellers that have helped improve my business. I just recently closed a lease deal, I was the listing agent and the reason I received that listing was from my seller finding me on google - Active Rain!"

Mark Montross (Catamount Realty Group): Real Estate Agent in South Burlington, VT Mark Montross (Catamount Realty Group)
"I have been a member of Active Rain for three months and have learned more from Active Rain than I have from any other real estate resource, seminar, etc. I attended Rain Camp in New York City and it was an incredible experience. I start every day with reading articles on Active Rain and posting comments. People I have met through Active Rain have been a tremendous resource and very generous about sharing tips from their experiences. I look forward to becoming even more active on Active Rain!"

Donald Stevens ( Insurance Broker or Agent in Kalamazoo, MI Donald Stevens (
"ActiveRain has connected me with several property managers and real estate agents that I was able to help get their properties insured. I also met some property managers and real estate agents from all over the country that I can confidently refer my investor clients to. It has been a great way to get and give referrals for me. The world just got smaller for me and I love it."

Hi Kerrie ~  Dave Matthews' message about being thankful is a good one for all of us.  I'm so glad you love your job -- we can't imagine not having you here in the Rain.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends!

P.S. My daughter (who lives in Seattle) is always running into Dave Matthews walking with his kids, bicycling, and shopping, and she even knows where he lives!  She's forever bragging about it, and he always smiles and says "hi" to her.  I think she hopes her husband will be jealous LOL!

Kerrie I really appreciate the spotlight. I could not have accomplished any of this without the ActiveRain community and the ActiveRain staff. I'm finally see now that the ActiveRain platform can do more for my business than any amount of advertisement I could buy!
