I was in SF over the weekend and made it a point to visit Alcatraz as I've never done it before but always wanted to. The audio tour and history that island experienced was so worth it and I recommend it to anyone. It was mid to high 70's the entire trip and sailboats galore in the Bay. I snapped this shot on our ferry ride back.
I ♥ SF!

Kerrie: What a great photo; especially from a moving ferry. Will have to put it on our list of places to visit when we retire.

That is an awesome picture! Seems like such a waste to have such waste on a beautiful island!
That is a great phot Kerrie. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to California and I agree that the Alcatraz tour is a must-see.
I have done that tour and thought it was mesmerizing! Great Photo
What a beautiful shot. It looks so professional. :) Gail
Hi Kerri, What a great photo. You are quite the Tack Sharp shooter. Love that expression, hehehe. When are you going to join the ActiveRainPhotoBlogger group? We would love your great photoblog posts.
Kerrie,
That is a great picture. I hope you had fun I too love SF and the close by wine area! You make me want to hop on a plane and go!
It is a very interesting place with a lot of history. They also say it is haunted! So I was told.
I just knew you'd love that your Kerrie. As I mentioned in your other post, I took the tour years ago and was totally intrigued by it. Glad you had a great time too. And the photo came out great as well.
The cells were so tiny and it was so weird to think of all who have passed through. The pictures of the warden and officers looked cold as ice man!
That's wonderful composition in that photo, Kerrie! Love the flag in the foreground with the island in the background. Alcatraz was one of those places you wouldn't want to spend much time at, had you been a prisoner.
Kerrie, what a great shot, I love the American Flag, symbol of freedom in the foreground!
Kerrie, that a good shot there. I would have enjoyed the Ferry ride more than the Island. It has always had a strange vibe. The waters around it are also treacherous as the waves come in unhampered through the Golden Gate. We use to cruise those waters. It is so beautiful out in the bay. Glad you had a good time and I love that shot with the colors flying!
Nice shot Kerrie, the cells are ridiculously small and there is no privacy at all.
Kerrie .....I would love to visit there one day ........
Have a Great Night!
Go Vols!
Kerrie I took one of the first tours of Alcatraz when it first opened to the public. I also would highly recommend a tour for anyone who has not been there before.
That is an outstanding shot, Kerrie! Glad you were able to come down and enjoy some of our Fall sun. I toured Alcatraz about four years ago. Really interesting place!
I've never been there either. Sounds like an interesting tour though and that photo is a real winner!
Very neat!!! I need to do that tour next time I go to SF.... Glad you had fun.. :)
Hi Kerrie. I love San Francisco. I haven't been there for a while. What a nice shot.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh to be young again! Kerrie, you are such a jet setter...
Kerrie,
We've spent some time on The Bay and share your appreciation. A day in the 70's there is considered a heat wave, lol. Glad you had a perfect day for your visit.
Steve
You obviouosly got a lot of practise in Italy. Great shot. I have only seen it from the shore and in the movies.
Pretty darn cool...........I have never seen the Pacific.........one of these days!
I bet that was very interesting! Your photo is fabulous!
Kerrie,
I visited The Rock about 6 years ago. I broke the rules and reached down and picked up a small "rock." It sit's in my home office. Hee Hee.
