Currently, ActiveRain is blessed with 129 Ambassadors. So what does it all mean?
ActiveRain has always been a place to help real estate related professionals connect and grow their business through learning, educating and sharing. Newer members of AR look for guidance as they begin their journey on AR which can be quite frightful for some. An Ambassador of ActiveRain possesses something special. Everyday I scream "Hallelujah" for the Ambassadors which we are so lucky to have. They help out by trying their very best to emulate exactly what AR is all about.
There is no automatic Ambassadorship awarded as many don't want the badge because it does mean work. In general, we do like to have our Ambassadors active on AR, after all how would they be able to help others if they didn't know the current going-ons? Seasoned members with at least 100K points who blog, comment and interact; ones who write informative "how-to" posts for other members of AR to benefit from, reach out to the newbies via phone, comment or email and possess admiration for ActiveRain.
Not only on the forefront, but our Ambassadors help us a great deal behind-the-scenes too. I'm constantly asking them to lend a hand on projects, help with back-end testing of AR before it's released to the public and many other things that the public does not ever see. I always have more than enough volunteers because they truly care about the well being of AR and its success as so many of you all do. There is no predefined box of prereq's you must obtain to automatically become an Ambassador. If that were the case we'd have 2,593 Ambassadors (current # of members over 100K points).
Ambassadors are an official representative of ActiveRain and I really don't know what we'd do without them. It's impossible for Bob and I to see and hear the pleas of help on AR each day. I've got deep inset smile lines now because I constantly find a blog asking for help and quickly scroll to the comments to see a plethora of helpful comments already left.
Many of you already possess this behavior without having the Ambassador badge. Please don't think it goes unnoticed. If you'd like to nominate yourself or someone in the 'Rain for the Ambassador program, please send an email to kerrie@activerain.com. Not all will make it but nominations are always being taken.
From Niki's post about Ambassadorship:
"Ambassadors are the critical members of ActiveRain who are proactively paying it forward by welcoming and educating the community. We want the Ambassador Badge and status on ActiveRain to mean something important and be special."
Each and every member of ActiveRain is a link that when connected, makes an invincible circle, never to broken. Thank you ALL for your love and passion of ActiveRain.
Let it Rain!!

Thanks Kerrie...I do indeed hold an admiration for Active Rain and all that it has done for the industry...you all rock!

I have seen several of our newbies (at least over the past year or so) become Ambassadors and they certainly fit the bill! Thanks Kerrie for getting all this out there. We love ActiveRain and all it does for us! :)
Kerrie - that makes me feel so special. I love talking to the new members and try to help when someone needs it. I know all the Ambassadors do; what a great group of people here in the Rain.
It's nice to be recognized and appreciated for bringing something extra to the community. Thanks, Kerrie.
Kerrie, We take our responsiblities as Ambassadors pretty seriously and want the Rain to be an optimal experience for everyone involved. Glad to help you and Bob where we can to make it a better environment for all of us. There's a lot to learn here, and still some misconceptions, so hopefully we can all clear those things up as quickly as possible.
Kerrie, I wanted to volunteer to be an ambassador when that designation was first created in Active Rain. At the time though, I had not yet published a Featured Post. Kudos to those who are ambassadors! I know many of them have helped me along the way!
Kerrie, I've been out of the loop for ahile. Howver i never stop promoting Active Rain and how fabulous it has been for me and my business.
i'm honored to have been with AR for 6+ years and an Ambassador for 2 of those years.
I love AR and if you ask around our office-- I am always trying to recruit members and then help them get started blogging. Some of them get tired of hearing about it-- and others really appreciate someone kicking their butt! I am proud to be an Ambassador on AR and don't take it for granted. I really enjoy checking in with members, reading posts and helping out if I can. Thank you Kerrie for your dedication and hard work in making ActiveRain such a wonderful community! Kathy
Thank you Kerrie. .
You are welcome!
Anything I can do to help. .
Kerrie thanks for the plug for us and the kind words. Welcome back from Hawii. Hope you had a great vacation
Thanks Kerrie! I love helping out AR! From the weekly AR webinars that Bob and I host, to encouraging as many people to blog and join AR, being a part of "RainCamp" and "RainStorm" and all the "behind the scenes" stuff you ask of us... We all love it. (And we do it, without a "points" award!)
Well sometimes we love it... lol... When it comes to the technical stuff when trying out new ways to overcome code writing issues... And making blogs to see how the new "code" will accept can sometimes be a challenge... BUT, whenever you ask something, you know we always do it! Now, didn't you say I would get a coffee mug a few years ago? I still wait by the mailbox daily...
Love ya girl!
-Chris
Bravo Kerrie to you for letting us all know about what the Ambassadors do and to all of the Ambassadors for being so helpful and supportive to the rest of us!
Hi Kerrie - Thanks for the opportunity and the recognition. I've never really looked at the Ambassador responsibilities much differently than anything else here in the rain - yeah, there's some effort involved, as there is with almost anything worthwhile, but it's also huge fun.
Active Rain got me up and running with members helping me with blogging and tech tips that have helped me in my business. I always try to give back when I can when i stumble on something really cool that would be beneficial to those in real estate. I am very honored to be an Ambassador and happy to help whenever you need to me too here in my little neck of the woods!!
Kerrie, The Rain if filled with ambassadors! I am a bit surprised that there are only 129 "officials". Every day I speak with at least one ActiveRain member and always find each person willing to help. There is so much learning, sharing and caring among the members. You, my dear, are admired and appreciated!
Margaret
Thank you Kerrie. Your site is amazing
Hi Kerrie, As one of the newest Ambassadors to the our AR community, I certainly hold to those High Standards and Expectations established to be counted among that 129 group. Sharing, Coaching, and Teaching are all things that I love to do, and I am always promoting Active Rain to new members in my office, and anywhere else I can discuss what Active Rain has done for us, and will continue to do.
Recognizing that many new members were reluctant to get started with blogging, I reached out to our community last year to start another New Members Group to Introduce, and give Newbies encouragement and tips to help them with their journey in the Rain. I am here to assist you and Bob with what ever project you need assistance, and to continue helping any AR members. NO, it's definitely NOT automatic, but it's about the Joy of Giving Back to our Community.
Kerrie I Love Being an Ambassador and am always here to Help ..Thus the name
HelpfulHannah
Just call on me
Kerrie- with or without the orange badge of honor, I'm proud to be an Ambassador because it's a way of giving back to a community that has given me so very much. And, as in so many organizations the tone is set at the top. You and Bob have set that tone!!!
Kerrie,
"it's a who-you-know" That couldn't be more true! But, it's not about becoming an Ambassador, it's about Ambasators being willing to get to know you! That Orange Bar is the equivalent of " A half open Dutch Door an open invatition to say Hello!"
AR is like a library it Ambassadors Liberians finding one with similar interest is like finding a Liberian who likes all the same authors.
Bill
WOW Kerrie, Your new photo is awesome! A wonderful Post and certainly it speaks to the efforts by so many. Of all the Ambassadors though, You and Bob are the true foundation that inspires not by just your words but by the amazing example you both set. Anyone that has ever interacted with either of you would say so, so it is not politics or Who You know, to make that claim loud and clear here. And by the way, there is nothing wrong with a truly deserved compliment and trust me, I could write a very long post about how much the two of you inspire and lead this company and network of family members, again by example, not just words. I use the word family because that is essentially the way I see it. A family looks out and enables each other with care, sincerity and above all the passion of working together to make each life better both personally and professionally. If that doesn't explain our relationship among members, I certainly don't know what does. Am I proud of this amazing network? Yeah, I would have to say I am just a little. OK, HUGE!
Kerrie, Active Rain is a giving environment and I am honored and pleased to be a part of it. I look for ways to help, to answer questions, to encourage, as I know all ambassadors do. We have such great examples in front of us in you and Bob and other staff members. I want AR to continue to succeed and to grow. We all benefit. :)
Thanks Kerrie. I consider my Ambassador volunteerism part of my AR citizenship. Ask for help anytime
A welcome post. Kerrie, is there a page that shows the current list of Active Rain Ambassadors? I think that might be interesting.
I admire and love every one of the Ambassadors that I know! I am truly honored to be one of them, and more than happy to help anyone, anytime! I guide any and all new agents straight to AR for their classroom to learn all about real estate. Have a question? I'll bet it's right there! I love helping, and adore the way you and Bob have guided and helped me every step of the way.
Thanks!!! Ask anything anytime - I'm here for ya
Alan - I'm working on a getting an Ambassador link on the front page of AR. I feel very strongly that the benefit of such a link would greatly help AR's members.
It's definitely not "who you know", but "how do you contribute".
Those that are selected to be Ambassadors are all about positive energy, and being helpful and informative to keep the AR community growing as it has.
And there are expectations placed upon the Ambassadors that require this.
Trust me - they keep the Amabassadors in check ALL the time! It's not an easy post to live up to......
Kerrie,
I've always felt very honoured to be an AR Ambassador and have enjoyed helping newbies over the many years since AR's beginnings. The Ambassadors that I know are a special lot, indeed and I'm blessed to call so many of them my friends.
Thanks for writing such a wonderful post!
Jo
Kerrie, thank you so much for this post, and I for one am very honored to serve with the Orange badge.
Kerrie, thank you for your words or recognition. Badge or no badge, in the end it is not the badge that makes you an ambassador, it is what you do, how you represent yourself as an AR member. As to promoting AR... if you love the AR family, how could you possibly not promote it?
When I was approached I thought to myself, I'm only doing what I thought we all should be doing. Do unto others motto applies to being an Ambassador in my opinion.
Hope you had a great vacation and are ready to take on the Rain again my friend.
:) I always try to be helpful. Many times without being asked. When the program rolled out I hadn't yet achieved and post ranked first on Google. I got lots of those now.
Hello Kerrie,
I had no idea that there were that many Ambassadors, what a lovely compliment to AR!
When I read your post, KERRIE ...I felt SO GOOD! I've been blogging at AR since September of 2006...and have enjoyed the rewards not only in Google Juice, but (most especially) in cultivating connections through Active Rain (...the clients...sensational bloggers and friends...) that really matter to me.
I am so happy to be able to contribute as an Ambassador at AR...Here's a ig Green Thumbs Up to all of the Ambassadors....especially YOU AND BOB xxxooo
I have made friends with lots of the Ambassadors on ActiveRain, they are a cool bunch. I will think of few that can be good Ambassador moving forward. Some past Ambassadors have been kind of inactive, how can we get them to be more active again?
Kerrie, I am deeply honored and very greatful to be considered an Ambassador for ActiveRain. You and Bob however are the ultimate Ambassadors :)
Great photo, Kerrie, and thanks for the continued support by AR as the premier social & professional real estate platform!
Hey Kerrie. Thx for your post. Not sure if this was inspired by mine, but clearly there is a need out there to understand this and many have been in the dark about this. I have a few ideas for nominations and will try to gather my thoughts in the next few days.
I'm grateful to the various Ambassadors that I interact with, so thanks to you too, for recognizing their contributions! And please send Chris his coffee mug. Otherwise we'll have to hear about it for another 3 years...
Hi Kerrie,
thanks for recognizing those AR members who always there when you need them. I love to read ambassadors' blogs because I learn so much from them.
thank you,
Tatyana
Kerrie,
As a member, I wish there had been Ambassadors when I started on Active Rain in 2007. As an Ambassador, I offer that it is a privilege to hear from any members and help them learn what Active Rain can do for you and your business.
Thanks to you, Kerrie and the staff of Active Rain for this great platform that can never be duplicated.
With or without the Ambassador designation, I've always felt the need to "give back" to anyone asking for help in the Rain. Why you might ask? The answer is simple..... Because ActiveRain has given so much to me. I've learned so much more about my business, SEO, blogging, and internet presence, here in the Rain, than any classroom setting I've ever been in.
And, since a great deal of my business has come as a direct result of my participation in this forum, giving back just seems like the right thing to do.
Howdy and afternoon Kerrie
Kerrie my friend, I'll start off by saying that I'm sure sorry for being so late getting by to leave you a comment! I sure do enjoy being one of the many Ambassadors here in ActiveRain community, and I sure do feel mighty Honored and Proud being a part of the Ambassador Program. Thank mighty kindly for taking time out of your mighty busy day to write and post this here mighty outstanding blog post!
I also feel that it would be mighty benefitful to have an Ambassador link on the AR front page.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Great post, Kerrie! I really did not know how someone became an Ambassador - but it is a good long-term goal for a Newbie to have!
Kerrie~ I remember John McCormack expressing everyone in ActiveRain has the ability to act as an ambassador, you don't need the Orange badge;I thought that was well put. Conversely it doesn't mean just because you have a orange badge with your name you're being a good representative. I think just as it's important to have a list of the orange badges, the orange badges need to preform like one! I think it's too easy for ambassadors to become complacent, if the oranges don't comply with certain standards! MY 2 cents...
Hope you had a great HM..
This is a mighty fine blog, Miss Kerrie. Sorry...i just came over from Dale's reblog. At any rate. this was a great and hopefully, it quells some of the unrest among certain people that there is some "special clique" I happen to know from being "friends" with a number of Ambassadors that this isn't just a walk in the park. These people work weekly and daily to make this place what it is....all without one cent of remuneration, just their dedication and regard for the site and its members.
I hope you had a great vacation. Thank you for everything. And, thanks for this post!
Great post, Kerrie! Those of us who have been Rainers for years know that this is more than a website, it connects the ActiveRain Family!!!!
Ahh... the old discussion... who do you have to know to... Better to ask... what do I have to do? Then you can make your decision based on fact, not fiction.
I can say, with all certainty, I do not belong to an ActiveRain clique, I am not anyone's favorite.... I don't work ActiveRain like that.I have heard grumblings here and there about it though.
I think, in all honesty that many are afraid to put their own name forward, afraid they will be turned down. We all had that fear, I am sure. I know I did!
If you think you would like to become an Ambassador, email Kerrie at ActiveRain, find out what it is all about, ask the question, put your name forward. But please don't assume that we are in some clique, nothing could be further from the truth.
(I have never been in a clique, in all my life, LOL. As a matter of fact, I usually sit right on the outside of things. I got beat up when I was a young kid, by the clique girls, I have an adversion to it)
PS, that is one smokin picture there lady... LOL.
Kerrie, we ambassadors feel honored that you thought of us so kindly to appoint us ambassadors. Thank you for asking!
Hi Kerrie~ I almosted missed this today with your new photo.. (very cool)
I have met a good number of your ambassadors, but after seeing this post I realize I have not met quite a few here. As I was reading down the comments I see that you are planning for a list. That was going to be my suggestion but I guess it is in the plans.
I do like to know what is going on here and the learning is enormous. It does say something that your ambassadors are happy to be with the status that you gave them and love the community. You did get quite a few to comment already out of the 129... It tells a newbie that it is worth staying around and getting to know others.. ambassadors and activerainers alike.
I consider it a honor to be an Ambassador for such a great community. When I get an email or phone call asking how to do something, I almost always write a blog post in response -- Just in case there are others who would like to know the answer as well. After all, ActiveRain is all about sharing and caring! ☺
You, Kerrie, are our ActiveRain Princess and we adore you!! They need to make you a special PINK Princess Badge!! XO
I am glad I caught your post (I came via one of the Ambassador's who re-blogged this, Toni Weidmann), I know admire their hard work even more. I did think it was a point-benchmark that marks Ambassadors, the true "title" that it stands for is actually way more meaningful!
Kerrie, the only thing that I would add to what you stated is that no one should be an ambassador for life. Ambassadors should be ambassadors as long as they are active here on ActiveRain. Once they stop being active I would hope they would have enough common sense to step down, that it is not an ego thing with them, But if they do not step down then they should have the title taken away. I have always thought of ambassadors as a discription for what they do, and not an honorary title.
Kerrie
Thanks for a great overview of the role and responsibilities of the ambassadors. I take this very seriously and am always happy to help others who ask (and sometime even when they don't). In many ways, however, I think much of what ambassadors do is what folks should be doing here anyway - it's part of being an active member of the community and helping others learn.
I agree with George's point about being active. If life takes you in other directions, then it's time for that badge to go away.
I think it's great to encourage others to apply. As far as I know there is nothing magical OR cliquey about it!
Jeff
Ok, so Miss Kerrie, you've mostly heard from the Orange People, and you know what? That's OKAY. For me, it was (alright, I'm baring my soul here) a bit like Sally Fields when she got an Oscar: "You LIKE me! You really LIKE me!!
Seriously, it was.
(God, I'm so transparent). Well, heck, who cares? I love ActiveRain, it's been an introduction/connection to some incredibly wonderful people! So there. As my dear Granny used to say, "I am quietly proud".
I would ditto everything said above my comment.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
P.S. Love ya for settin' the record straight.
Kerrie-hard to believe with over 200K memembers that there are only 129 Ambassadors. Though I don't wear the badge I gladly lend a hand when I can.
My dear Ms. Greenhalgh ~ have we mentioned lately how crazy we are about you and all you do around here? Thank you for this wonderful post as I am often asked about Ambassadorships. The remodeling project is complete, the wedding is over, and our fires are 90% contained (as of today ~ HOORAY!). I look forward to learning, helping, writing, and splashing in puddles around here again. Thanks for this motivation. I love this community!
PS ~ LOVE the new photo, and THANK YOU for making the comment button work again to link to where you commented on someone's post. It makes commenting SO much easier!
Kerrie - I have great admiration and respect for my fellow AR members who take on the Ambassador role. I take responsibilities like that very seriously and felt it was the right thing for me to do to not take on the role while I am tending to heavy-duty caregiving responsibilities at home. In my own way I try to give back to the AR community. Thank you to all 129 AR members who have taken on this responsibility. I'm grateful!
Kerrie, I would have thought your first post after vacation would have been about the vacation. But offering a tribute and extending an invitation to Ambassadors is just as worthy.
As for Andrea, #50, yes dear you are someone's favorite, and the readership you get when you post is a testimonial to the quality you put out in your blogs, well what an ActiveRain Ambassador would be expected to present.
Kerrie, There are a Few I am glad and fornunate to know. Some you see on every blog you write or those you comment on...always throwing out the cheers and support.
Hello Kerrie ... You are such a sweetheart thinking about us like this! Wonderful post and if you would have posted to one of my groups I would have featured it ...
Great New Look on your (Profile Pic)

Wait a minute Kerrie ... VB still has some power and connection at this group, let me give it a try!

The REAL Ambassadors are those that never had such thoughts that 'it's who you know' or how much we pay to be one.....LOL LOL. It's taken YEARS of hard work, effort and like you said...the love and loyalty we have for AR. I got busy the past month so not been here as often as I would like...but hey...look how I got that biz... From everything I learned here.
Giving back is like we say here.... WE GIVE WITH ALOHA! Nothing in return but the constant reminder of the gift I have...ActiveRain. Thank you all for being a part of this program....and thank you to you and Bob...for without your hands on....we wouldn't have had the guidance to be a part of the gift that keeps on giving...Ambassadors.
Kerrie, I admise the members with Orange Badge - and would like to see the same under my name....but...
I am not yet as much dedicated as I should be, I am not as much involved as I want to be.
I just completed BOLD training (happened to be on the same Thursdays when Boot Camp was there so could not participate). One 'Aha' from that training is 'BE DO HAVE'....and it simply means, to have that orange badge under my name, I should BE what they are, I should DO what they are doing - and then only I can have it. And I also know, I am well short on BE and DO.
And one of my goals is...HAVE!

I have great respect for all the Ambassadors at Active Rain. They all go out of their way to be helpful and interact with the rest of us to make sure that AR is a great experience for all. They are all a rare breed.
Thanks for the explaination Kerrie, I've often wondered what it takes to be an Ambassodor at ActiveRain. It has been fun meeting so many of them here.
Good morning Kerrie, and welcome back!
I wear my orange badge with a lot of pride, and it only feels right to give back to a community that has done so much for me. Activerain and the members here have been a blessing to me! I love nothing more than a phone call or email asking for help with something on the platform, and especially the calls or emails "Just Because". I have made wonderful, life long friends, I've received lots of business, I've learned TONS, and as I've said before.... AR is the gift that keeps on giving!
Good morning Kerrie. I guess I thought I knew about the designation but now I do. I guess you should mention that you need to be a Rainmaker though. Enjoy the day.
Hi Kerrie. I have never had a Active Rainer turn down my request for help. They may not have the badge but they are ambassadors.
Hi Kerrie,
The simplicity of your title drew me in.
Good write up of what being an ambassador is all about.
Thanks
Phil
Thank you for the explaination about Ambassadors; they are a tremendous asset to the AR community. Several of them helped me with information and encouragement as I first set out into the Rain 18 months ago. I was surprised to learn how few Active Rain members have over 100,000 points. I already belong to that elite group : )
Kerrie...
An ambassador should LOVE ActiveRain and always use their influence to promote it. In order to do that, you must be a true believer in the platform and understand the value of the service.
Kerrie - The Ambassadors I know are all you say they should be. I have been working at it but am not quite there yet. Maybe one day...until then I will keep doing what I do on here everyday!
Kerrie,
Great photo!!
I think it's important for people to know that many Ambassadors are "behind the scenes". It's not something we advertise too much, although I for one feel it's an honor. As with everything, to me, the reason there are so many ambassadors (and we could probably use more) is because there "is" so much to be done and being a volunteer, means you have to organize your time.
I wish I could spend much more time here, but I have to run my business.
Active Rain has been through so many changes, and I'm sure there will be many more to come, but through it all, it has managed to keep a "base" function and to me it is like having a secure place to go to read, ask questions, interact. I remember my first time here and all the feelings that went with meeting new people and especially the helpfulness of everyone everywhere. It opened up places that I never would have known about across the nation.
I could go on and on about AR and the things I see for AR, but my business is calling me!! Meanwhile, thankyou for the post.
I am going to feature this post in some of my groups.
Since I'm just fumbling my way around AR this is terrific information. I had no idea the definition of an Ambassador, now I do. With every bit of info I read on AR I learn just a little more. Now I can call upon an Ambassador if needed. Thanks
This is good to know. I never really knew how the whole Ambassador thing worked. I just knew those who wear it proudly are great people that I like to follow here in the Rain.
Thanks for the info. I never knew what the ambassadors really did. I'm glad you use them for beta testing some stuff.
Kerrie -- First and foremost....LOVE your new picture. Then I had no idea what the orange badge really meant until now. Thanks for the explanation and I applaud the ambassadors who help and share their knowledge and expertise with new members and seasoned members alike.
I've wondered what "Ambassadors" on ActiveRain means...now I Know! Thank you!
I lift my glass to those that put on the Ambassador hat...clink and a huge GULP....thank you Kerrie
I've often wondered how to become an Ambassador. I would also like to see a list. I know several Ambassadors have assisted me when I called. They are always so eager to help. It's a great way to get help from the community.
HI Kerrie, thanks for the explanation and thanks to those that do a great job as ambassadors! Great new photo, BTW.
I don't know how I missed this post, good thing Alan referenced it in his goofy post about Ambassadors. I believe our Ambassadors are a blessing too. I know they lifted me up when I've needed it! :-)
All I've got is Hmmmmmmmmmm!
Kerrie, I'm so glad to finally be back here in the Rain. I've missed you all and missed my duties as an ambassador. I was so honored to be asked and didn't even feel qualified at the time.
Kerrie, the ambassadors do a lot and are very smart whenit comes to the ins and outs. I never felt I possessed that quality.
Thjanks to all that do
Hi Kerrie. It is a huge undertaking in addition to working offline. I also notice that when someone asks a question another Rainer was very helpful which helps out the ambassadors. It is a great place to be.
I'm so glad this cleared up some questions out there. As always, anybody can reach out to me for further clarification.
Thank you all for the comments, it's a great way to spend a Friday reading about the love of AR!
Kerrie: Thank you. I feel honored to be among the 129. Let me know if I can help either you or Bob with your next project!
Kerrie - I agree; the new photo is terrific!
As to the badge. I "wear" it with pride and am happy to help those who need it as so many have helped me before.
I love this program. I have fun with it every day. My e-mail is off the hook and I'm constantly chatting with people about blogging. I'm hoping to have my schedule normalized by the end of the month so I can get back to living my virtual life. Running a new company has my head spinning like that chick in the Exorcist (which will probably turn into a blog series - LOL). :-)
☔Kerrie, you are so kind to give the Ambassadors a 'shout out'! Thanks, and I echo all the comments before me - it is an honor and a privilege to serve AR as an Ambassador! This is the best network anywhere online where there are soooo many folks willing to help. The collection talented people & great minds to learn from is very impressive indeed!
Pamela
Kerrie I too love your new picture! Thanks for all you do and congrats to all the Ambassadors and thanks for all of their hard work!
I do feel a responsibility to share information, to help when asked and needed and to be open and honest in all my dealings here in the Rain and in my career. I have been blessed with learning from so many people here on the format. I speak it's praises constantly and promote my relationship with other professionals as a badge of honor and responsiblity. I do not think it is the job of an Ambassador to constantly be flying their own flag above all others. I think the more we learn and share than the easier it is to share the knowledge and insight we gain from others. In this way we raise the tide on our industry. There is nothing wrong with that. I am proud to be an ambassador, feel free to call at any time to ask a question you think I might be able to answer. Thanks Kerrie for all you do so well. You are one of the best.
Thanks for your post, Kerrie. I did not know the meaning of the orange badge and the implications of being an ambassador. I think the orange badge is quite an honor.
Kerrie... having knowledge gives one power and I am thankful for the Power behind the scenes that helps make ActiveRain as good as it is because since I've been a member, it has gone from good to GREAT just because of you and Bob and all the great Ambassadors who continuously support me and others to grow in the RAIN.
What I've discovered is that the Ambassadors come in all different shapes and sizes from many different parts of the country. Yet if there's one thing in common, they all have a BIG heart of gold and those that reach out to others, make calls, and offers assistance are to be applauded. I never knew what went on behind the scenes and you've explained it to me.
Now I have an even greater appreciation for the Staff, Ambassadors, and all the membership who continues to make this Social Media even greater every day.
My sincere thanks to you and all who involved in the process.
Great post and I was looking for this exact information. Glad I am up late tonight surfing around on Activerain. I love Activerain..
It is nice to recognize the people in ActiveRain that make it what it is today. As always great things only happen when great people make them happen. Thank you for bringing our great Ambassadors into the limelight. Thank you for your time and endless energy all you Ambassadors.
Kerrie...Thanks for this post...I wondered how it worked and now I know...Enjoy your day.
There are many great ambassadors that have been very generous with their talent and time.
Thanks Kerrie, this answers many questions, hopefully someday when I become more knowledgeable, I may achieve one of these great badges.
NOW I know what the "orange badge" is and means! Something to apsire to/for in my future! Getting close in points, and starting to Blog more. Now, I need to start "helping" others more....
Someday I'll get there! Thanks for posting this info. Gives many of us something to aspire to!
Hi Kerrie,
I have wondered myself what it takes to become an ambassador as I post daily, have lots of AR friends here, attend the webinars monthly and have over 330,000 points but I figured you would ask me if I was what you were looking for. Thanks for the orange badge post. Down the road, I hope to become an Ambassador.
Great information and thank you to all the ambassadors, so many freinds on AR over the years it's been great.
Well let's see there are about 111 posts here this morning and I am 112 so at somepoint we may have 112 new Amabassadors for reading such a wonderful post on all things Amabassador AND commenting so effectively lol. Thanks for the scoop on the Orange Sherbert!!!
Kerri, I am a relative newbie and your Amabassoadors rock. They have called me on the phone, helped me out, answered my emails and befriended me. Where else can you get such wonderful attention. I am a long way off from becoming one, but I am so grateful to all those out there that reach out and help.
There are many, many people on AR who function as Ambassdors without the orange badge, and so many have helped us so much along the way!
Kerrie
Just a newbie here. But I know a good thing when I see it. There are those that inspire us...and you are one of them.
Thanks for all you do!
John
Welcome to the 'Rain John! You'll find quite the inspiration from this one-of-a-kind community. I look forward to watching your success grow!!
Kerrie, you are right, there are many awesome Ambassadors and when I joined several went out of their way to help me get started.
I guess I didn't know about the different designations, but I do see the work that Ambassadors do for me. I should hit 100,000K tomorrow so maybe it is time to pay a bit more attention to these things on Active Rain.
Thanks Kerrie~ ActiveRain does care about all members, and they do serve as the golden standard to all members, I have made that statement 1,000 times or so. Rainmakers that want to become an ambassador "apply away is the protocol" and I love it. And I feel AR will chose wisely. AR gets it right when it comes to member services, and like I have stated continuously, "there's none better than the AR staff" 8~)
I think you've chosen the Ambassadors very well. They are all unique and offer something different which I'm sure helps Newbies, and not so Newbies, feel like they can reach out to them.
Dear Kerrie,
Being an Ambassador on ActiveRain has meant more to me than I can easily express. The community is so supportive and newcomers are so welcome and the posts - literally millions of them - provide so much information.
Have a happy day -
Lynn
~ And to the "new rainmakers," as well as the "not so new AR members," I also feel AR has made great decisions, especially when it comes to the beloved Ambassador. But as mentioned (AR and staff) are only human, and mathematically there are a few that proved AR's decision human.
