Kerrie's Blog: Great time had at the Exit Convention in Nashville

Great time had at the Exit Convention in Nashville

What a blast it is getting to talk with members face-to-face and also educating newbies on the power of ActiveRain.  There is a ton of fresh meat here in the 'Rain so please welcome them when you see them posting and commenting.

We stayed at Gaylord Opryland and let me tell you....each time I ventured from my room to the hall or the gym or the party I got lost.  Once I even ended up in this beautiful garden full of fountains and lights which I later found out was the Garden Conservatory.  A huge, beautiful bio dome that makes you feel like you're outside when you're not.  I didn't go outside for 3 days but wouldn't have known.  Such a cool spot for a convention indeed.

The #1 excuse I heard for not blogging was time.  I know life gets busy and sometimes it may feel as though there aren't enough hours in the day but come on...you have time to surf the net, watch the game and eat so BLOG!  It's the simplest tool you can use to build your business and market yourself where otherwise you would be without a presence.  My greatest joy was talking to a new agent or broker and trying to explain the benefits and then having a seasoned member come up and sing our praises.  You can't pay for that kind of advertising!!

There are quite a few that will be joining us for the next Boot Camp series kicking off November 8th.  I hope to be at more and more of these conventions because there is nothing better than hanging out with our members!

Kerrie,

Sounds like a success and I would love to attend one of these conventions! Blogging is so important my hubby got another sale this past weekend because of A/R!

Kerrie, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park would be a terrific place for a RAIN CAMP.  Sounds like you keep energized by the interaction...I get that! BTW, saw your A/R youtube video...you're like a movie star ;-D

Kerrie ~  These type of gatherings are always so rewarding.  Glad you had a great time and that you met so many folks.  We will keep an eye out for the newbies.

Kerrie, road trips can be so tiring, but also so much fun. Those smiles on the Rain Crew tell a story. BTW who was dressed in the trench coat???

Oh my is that a Bob clone flashing the convention?  I know what you mean about the Opryland hotel.  You need comfortable shoes to get around.

Kerrie, I wanted so badly to meet up with you all there but Friday was my busiest day of the month and I just couldn't add one thing to it. Glad it turned out to be a good event. Are you all going to the NAR Convention?

Debbie - ActiveRain won't be at NAR this year, hope you have a fun time though!

Kerrie, ActiveRain has changed my world in unfathomable ways. I was just speaking today with a seller who wanted me to "sell" him on my marketing strategies...and how I'm able to reach out to people all over the internet--well, I gotta tell ya--before I really got serious with AR, I didn't know anything about linking, SEO, Google Juice, OR the incredible friendships I would be establishing while continuing to finetune my craft. AR has been the catalyst, the instrument for education as well as the welcome avenue that allows me to tap into my more creative self that's always fighting to get out!

My only regret?  Not getting to meet face-to-face all of the lovely people I've come to adore through this amazing social and educational network of professionals.

Kerrie, Sorry to hear that but I guess your can't do all things. I think you said you are starting a new Boot Camp then.

I too would love to have a meet up with other AR people. It is amazing how many Realtor's I ask it they blog post and they always says the same things, don't have time, can't write anything like that, and goes on and on.... I think it was just a tiny bit hard in the beginning but gets so much easier as time goes on. And blogging does work! it would be so nice to visit with some Realtors who did post!

So, you're coming to Louisville soon, right? *chuckle* I'm glad you had a great time! I agree with Mona above that the Smoky Mountains would be a great place for a convention.

Kerrie, Wow Gaylord Opryland sounds absolutely awesome. I always wanted to stay in a bio dome atmosphere now I am sure of it. I think your feedback is accurate and time is the one thing we don't have an overstock of. Blogging is so important in today's marketing especially for those in the real estate related industries.

It is indeed a powerful tool and when combined with craigslist can quickly build a new agents database with leads.

Kerrie,

It sounds and looks like a great time!   One of these days I'll hopefully make it.  There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day but can't imagine not blogging!
