Kerrie's Blog: Keeping it Fresh with Erica Ramus

Keeping it Fresh with Erica Ramus

This week's KIF is brought to you by Erica Ramus

How long have you been in business?

I have been a Realtor® since January 2000 and broker since January 2004. I started with a big franchise and opened my own place in 2007. I have never looked back!

What outfit do you own that makes you feel invincible?

I have a closet filled with black! It keeps dressing pretty easy. I like a pair of black slacks, heels, and whatever suits my mood for a top/jacket. Normally I'll pull on a black shell and a colorful jacket, or a colorful shell with a black jacket. Red is my power color, matched with black, when I want to feel really good.

What is the biggest fashion faux pas you've ever made?

Wearing a zebra themed thin top over my normal black top/pants to a country club luncheon. My husband almost choked on his margarita when he saw me. He said it looked a bit "Real Housewives" (okay not what he said but I'm editing it here). You get the gist. Hooker like.

What celebrity is your style doppelganger?

I love Reese Witherspoon.  Whatever she wears, she looks great.  I wish I weighed what she weighs though (big sigh).

Best Fashion Advice?

Never underestimate the power of taking a friend with you shopping.  A true friend will tell you when to put something back on the rack, and when to buy something no matter what the cost!

Great idea, I will take a friend shopping with me next time.  I think I am getting stuck in a rut, buying the same old stuff.

Kerrie, this is so much fun! I am half tempted to go answer those questions, but have to get back to WORK. (Catherine, have a CAbi party--they're fun and the styles change every season, they have great "riding" professional attire, too!)

My daughter and my mom both say.. "nope, put it back", but then I am friends with my mom and my daughter. :)  Erica always looks great in photos.

Erica, I like your wardrobe simplicity; red is my favorite of colors - I have to watch myself not to over buy though. Thanks for sharing, Kerrie.

Always good to take a friend shopping.  AS for me I have no fashion sense and my wife is more of an expert having working in the industry.

For me make sme crazy trying to please her with the right thing.

I love the zebra comment.  The taking a friend with you advice is a good idea.   We all need someone to look at us from behind.....

Your wish is granted.  You can join a few of us  and work with Roger Mucci and TAKE IT OFF IN THE RAIN this year.

My goal is 100 lbs and I am already underway.

Come join us and remember; you can have reasons or you can have results and you cannot have both.

I'm big on black in my wardrobe too!  I have several blazers, jackets, and sweaters of different colors, to make things look different in a hurry.  My worst showing was ina pair of leopard pants.  I was wearing them while visiting my daughter.  I received a call to show a house located in between my daughter's house, and my own home.  Yep, I showed up in the leopard.  To make things worse, I was wearing an oversized red sweater with them.  It had been cold that day, and I just threw things on to be warm.  I now carry a camera and a presentable outfit in the trunk of my car at all times:-)  As for the doppleganger, I always loved Audrey Hepburn, but I look nothing like her.  I also like Meg Ryan.  However, she's very young and cute. . .I'm not so much!

Erica, I'm neither black or red but they do you justice. I'm a blue person, it matches my eyes

Black is classic. You can never go wrong dressed in black.

Laughed out loud reading about the husbands remark! I love ZEBRA! :))))

Kerrie -- This is such a wonderful idea for a post. Nice way to get to know some of the members on a different level.

I agree with Erica. Black matches with everything and is very elegant at the same time. I just recently started reading Erica's blog. It's nice to learn new things and meet new people.

My favorite person to shop with is my partner and husband of 36 years, Frank. He will tell me the truth about what does or doesn't look best on me. What a wonderful way to get to know a little bit more about Erica. Thanks for sharing with us Erica and Kerrie.

Nice to get to see a new side of Erica. I like her idea of taking a friend shopping--that surely would help me.

Cool post, Kerrie.  Now I usually shop alone but I like the idea of having a friend/relative for the ultimate advice.  Not my husband of course.  I like Erica's suggestion to blend bold color with basic black.  No fretting in the morning or packing for vacation.

I will scurry over to Erica's site for a visit.

Very cool post. I love shopping but mostly for my daughters. I'm going to go over and meet Erica now. So many people to meet, so much to learn!

Hi Kerrie!  Great agent to feature!  I love Erica!  And, I laughed out loud at her zebra comment!  Unfortunately, my hubby would never say that--and he SHOULD!  (The 'hookier,' the better, he'd say!!)

And, yes, black is classic and what most of my closet is filled with.  I have to stop myself from buying it though--we DO need some 'color' in our wardrobe too!

Hugs and Happy New Year, Kerrie!  xoxo

Kerrie - I think half my closet is filled with black--it's a classic, but the occasional bright is good too.  Royal blue always makes me feel like the world is mine for the taking!
