Kerrie's Blog: Inspiration for All Those Getting Healthy in the Rain

Inspiration for All Those Getting Healthy in the Rain

Man, I started off my morning right by reading the recent entries to Stacey-Ann's Get Healthy in the 'Rain challenge.  You all are going to kick some serious ass!  Yes I said ass!!

So many of you are looking to drop some lbs, get moving and will reduce health risks by doing so.  Whether you're getting back into running, walking the dog 5x a week or staying away from sugar, I'd like to give you a few bits of inspiration from my Pinterest board appropriately titled "Work Out Kerrie Lil!! Do it!"

Most of my workouts are at night, and sometimes during the day I try to find excuses to skip my class as the idea of the couch, my fiance and dog sound so much better.  But then I head over to Pinterest and's only 4% of my day, I'm not going to regret this workout and my body deserves this.  I sit on my ass (there it is again) all damn day and my knees, hips, arms and soul need to move.  So I go.  And then I come home never ever regretting my workout.

Need Inspiration?  Check these out:

Every Damn Day

Reason #0834

No matter how slow you go...

The Miracle

Sing it Gwenyth

4% of Your Day

YOU CAN ALL DO THIS!!  You will feel better, sleep better and I bet your business will improve.  I really believe your self-confidence will rise which will give you that extra umph to close the deal, sell the house and be the kind of person others want to work with.

If you ever need Inspiration go check out Pinterest's Health & Fitness category. Lots of good ideas, exercises and tips!

The cold weather drives me inside and into a hibernation then I scurry around in the spring trying to drop the winter pounds. Going to take inspiration from your board and shake of the winter blues.

Kerrie - I am lucky because I actually love to workout.  I feel awful if I don't.  But if anyone is trying to lose weight, I came across something that caused me to lose weight and I am not even trying to.

I've been doing yoga for a while, but I just started Bikram Yoga (I wrote a post about it last week.)  This is a very different type of yoga where the room is heated to 105 degrees and 40% humidity.  I love it and I think all that sweating is getting rid of more than just water.

Just a thought, though it's not for everyone.

Hi Kerrie.  You are so right.  Its all about time management for me.  I know I just need to carve out the time it takes to get mobile, but something (or someone) always seems to get in the way.  My goal this summer is to actually take some time off and enjoy a few hours on the golf course.

Roger - Thumbs up buddy!

Pat - True, true!

Cindy - Shake it girl!

Margaret - I love Bikram yoga!!  I should get back into wonderful for the body and soul.

Belinda - Put yourself first sometimes, you're the only one who can!

Kerrie:  Someone told me that working out, and focusing on your "ass" is not only recommended... but it's in the Bible.  They said something about working out on one side, and then something about "turning the other cheek."

At least, that's what I THINK they were talking about.    "suggested"

Poop!  I tried to "suggest" it, but the suggest button isn't there.  Grumble, grumble...

Kerrie: It helps to have 3 dogs, they are always ready to go. Now I take them up the hill one at a time, makes for more walks...and that is a heart-pumping HILL.

Thanks for the inspiration and motivation.  I, too, sit all day long, that should be motivation enough to get up and move around and exercise.  It will certainly help having help and motivation from this challenge and others cheering and participating. -Kasey

Hi Kerrie,

Great post and really excited about you Zumba Certification. Is that you in the picture above? I have a friend I go to yoga with and she can stand on her head too. She is such a showoff in class- no just kidding.

Kristin and Kerrie:  I tried standing on my head once, but I soon quit.  I really didn't like all the heel-marks it left on my forehead.
