March 4th is here so I must update you on my progress.
Zumba has been going wonderfully and I've talked to some of the teachers about their experiences and am quite jazzed for my March 16th certification class. I put on some music and tried choreographing a short dance to teach and it was rough. Remembering the steps, making them easy enough but beneficial for all was holding me up. I'm anxious to learn some tricks of the trade in the class.
My good friend Lillian urged me to try the new yoga studio by our house. $20 for a month of unlimited classes had me committed. Yesterday morning we took our first hot yoga Hatha class and it was amazing. They say sweat is fat crying and with the room's temperature over 90 degrees it was crying alright. Afterward, I felt leaner and was more aware of what I was putting into my body for the rest of the day. It was rough too because my nephew George turned 1 year old and there was a big party with lots of good food but I did ok.
I look forward to my Zumba certification course and hope to use it to help others. If I do nothing with it I still am happy to get outside my comfort zone and push myself into doing things outside the norm.
I hope everyone is keeping up with their goals and even if you've gotten off track there is no better day than TODAY to jump back onboard.
Baby G wasn't so healthy yesterday but hey, you only turn one once!
Hi Kerrie, Good luck on your cert class. Love B'day pics with the kids diving into the cake !!!
Kerrie, I've never tried Hot Yoga, I don't think I could stand the hear for 90 min. Good luck to you on your certification, you'll do great!
Hi Kerrie, I'm sure you will nail it. Funny, Erin just text me and said she was heading out to a Yoga class and would be offlice for a while. I really need to make some time to enjoy something like this and DE Stress!
Baby G wasn't thinking yoga! I haven't tried yoga but I do get the all-natural flashes of heat .
two birthdays at my house this month, there WILL be cake. My gun however won't be here until after my birthday.
Fat crying... I love the concept.
Tammy - Gun?
Kerrie, Birthdays just would not be as much fun if we had a birthday broccoli plate! There is something about cake that creates a celebration.
You are doing great and will get your certification on the 16th. I like "get outside my comfort zone and push myself" ... that is how I felt when jumping from an airplane.
Hot yoga ... that is on my list.
Kerrie,
Maybe you're not aware, but birthday cake doesn't have any calories. Just trying to be helpful.
Rich
Hey good luck on your certification class, I'm sure you'll nail it. Your little one looks so cute diving into the birthday cake and like Rich just pointed out, no calories in birthday cake...lol.
Awesome job! I just got home from a mid-day yoga class! It was definitely sweaty - I have not tried Hatha yet .... eeek! Good luck on your Zumba cert - I bet you will have a blast!
Baby G. has the right approach to that cake :)
Kerrie - I've been doing yoga for years and love it. So many people think it's easy when it's really hard! It's a great way to build strength, while having such a calming effect. Between Zumba and yoga you're going to be in the best shape of your life! I've been hiking with Lucy and we're both loving it! Best of luck with your certification - I know you can do it!
Kerrie- I've not tried Hatha yoga but when I was living in Leesburg, my neiighbor/yoga teacher had a class out on the golf course behind her home. It was at nght in a full moon. The best experience!
OK..just read your comment and Tammy's and have to ask her about that...Gun?? lol...
Anyway, congrats on doing the Zumba thing..I have wanted to do that but a bit scared lol..Yoga, nope...not gonna happen :)!
Kerrie~ I can not get the zumba thing I have tried but God didn't bless me with ANY rhythm...LOL!
Go get'em, Kerrie. The choreography gets easier with practcie. I've been mounting my instrutor Spinner for 16 years, and I never carry notes because the choreography gets in you and you just do it with purpose. You'll be a great Zumba teacher. I've never taken a Zumba class, but everyone that I know who takes it loves it. Good luck with the certification.
A great class to be dertified in. Of course, anything the improves a person is good.
I can see you teaching ZUMBA! You have the energy and the enthusiam to make a class FUN!
I got to see Kerrie in person at Family Reunion and I can state for a fact ZUMBA is WORKING GREAT on her.
Kerrie, You go. You will be Zumbaing and leading the pack.
Hope you will show us a video of your Zumba class. Maybe we can make an AR Zumba challenge.
Congrats on your Zumba class, much less hot yoga! I've watched those classes from outside the room and thought Zumba looked like fun. But since I'm currently on crutches, not making it to them gym, much less this contest challenge. Best of luck!
Has anyone ever mentioned your inspiring attitude or more correctly, perspiring attitude. The yoga is where I am being pulled and shall begin soon. Workout + Sweat = Crying Fat, you're too funny Kerrie!
How cute, Zumba! Those classes are hard and fun. Go Girl! You should do a Zumba class at Active Rain. Get those eye balls off the screen and butts out of the chair. lol! Tried hot yoga last year, yucky, room of dirty crying fat people. ha! Kristine
