Kerrie's Blog: Utah is a Beautiful State

Utah is a Beautiful State

I must admit, when my Aunt picked Utah for our family reunion this year I wasn't exactly overcome with excitement.  I'd never been and honestly never really payed that much attention to ever going.

Family from New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Washington and Idaho were all en route to Heber City, UT for a week.

What fun it was!  Utah is absolutely gorgeous and our house was just atop this beautiful valley with the mountains in the background.  Horses, cows, llamas and other animals filled the fields wagging their tails and making their barnyard noises.  The house slept 40 and we all stayed in one spot which is nice.  We've done other family reunions where we had condos next to one another but being in one house is something I think we all prefer. It had a game room and movie theater and was a great house for all 30 of us.

We hiked, boated, shopped, went to a carnival, visited Park City, rode this Alpine Slide toboggan thing, played cards, ate a bunch and relaxed.  It was so much fun and so relaxing.  But the best part was being in the company of my family.  I LOVE my family so much and my heart is full!

I have a new found respect for Utah and it's beauty and would recommend it to anyone.

Hi Kerrie, so glad you enjoyed your trip out to my neck of the woods.  Next time you are around let me know and I will buy you a drink.  As a side note, somewhere on that alpine slide there is still a piece of my scalp.  I found that when you go way to fast you will flip on a few of those curves and your head may even hit the track before anything else does.  It is every bit as solid as concrete gets, I go a bit slower nowadays.

1.  I don't think I have ever been in a home that holds 40

2.  I don't think I could ever be in a home with 40 of my family but I am glad you had a wonderful time.

I've seen the beauty of Utah in Wanda Kubat Nerdin's posts. I'll be with my family next week...but not 40 in the same house.

I'm very fond of what Utah has to offer in the way of natural beauty.  A couple years ago, I traveled Utah's Highway 12 from one end to the other.  On that highway alone are 3 National Parks, and 3 State Parks, including Capital Reef, Bryce and Zion.

Your pictures are delightful, Kerrie.  I especially like the one with the feet getting ready to make their way down the slide.  The little guy driving the boat is cute too!

CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the Photos group!

I would really like to visit Utah. Years ago I visited a home I wanted to buy for myself and the homeowner was moving to Utah. She too said it was beautiful.

Kerrie, I'm so happy for you that you had such a great trip. Your photos are very nice. It is so wonderful that you were all able to stay in the same house. I used to belong to a ski club whose lodge slept 30 people and it was great fun having everyone in the same place. I am sure you will look back on all of these wonderful memories with great joy.

Really? Horses, cows, llamas and other animals in Utah overlooking a beautiful view too? I didn't know that was even possible!

You have a very smart Aunt and it's good that your family members listened to her. Intelligence runs in your family!!!

I think its great that your family plans for family reunions.
