Kerrie's Blog: 10 Things You May Not Know About Me - Present

10 Things You May Not Know About Me - Present

I wrote my Past post and am back again to write the Present so here goes!

1.  I am a newlywed of 3 months.  I found the love of my life and married her May 4th....best day of my life so far.

2.  I talk about you guys incessantly to friends and family.  It's as if you live down the block.

3.  I'm obsessed with Marilyn Monroe.  I collect Marilyn Merlot wine and have artwork of her all over the house....even plastic dishes I use to serve dessert on.  Earlier this year I got her lips tattooed on the top of my foot.  I have a freckle that is positioned perfectly so it looks like her mole above her lips.  Looks so hot with skinny jeans and heels!

4. I am a diehard Yankee fan.  Having been born in NY, my love for the Bronx Bombers has been with me since day one.  I can get very feisty and use not-so-nice language if anyone likes to talk smack about the #1 team in baseball.  27 Championships!!!  What, what!!

5.  Reality tv is my vice.  I love the Real Housewives of any city and hate to admit it but Teen Mom is so damn addictive.  I'm 35 years old and DVR Teen Mom.  Pathetic, maybe.  Harmless, yes.

6.  I love my family more than anything on this green earth.  They come first always, no matter what.

7.  My beach volleyball team is the Vball Meatballs.  We're not very good but have an absolute blast playing.

8.  I don't drink alcohol.  On August 15th it will be 2 years without it.  It was a life choice and my health and life have gotten better ever since.

9.  I cannot hold a tune but sing my heart out any chance I get.  I especially get down with some old school Mariah, Celine, Barbara, Gaga, Whitney...oh hell who am I kidding, I'll sing anything!

10. I've recently started doing puzzles again.  They calm me and I enjoy them; except that they take over the kitchen table.  Currently doing another Marilyn puzzle, go figure!

Kerrie,

I love this contest it so great we learn so much about each other! I too love the Yankees! When I went to NYC we got to see them play I loved it!

Posted by Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert about 5 years ago

Yay Kerrie! Glad to see you participating in this one. Now going to go read your past post...Go Braves!

Posted by Peter den Boer, MBA,GRI, Associate Broker, Realtor (Atlanta Communities) about 5 years ago

Kerrie, Isn't that what kitchen tables are for -- puzzles? Especially for those of us who do not cook (LOL). I did not know you are a Marilyn Monroe fan or that you cannot hold a tune. It does not stop me from singing either. I'm just selective of who I sing in front of.

Kerrie,

Thanks for sharing your 10 things we did not know about you. I was  abig Yankee fan growing up and Mickey and Roger (M&M) are still two of my all time favorite players and Yankees. This is a good contest as many of us and you included have put down some very interseting things the rest of us would never know about with the challenge. Good luck with the teenager..

Hi Kerrie - love the part about your Marilyn Monroe obsession - let's see a pic of your lips tatoo??

Just for you Nancy!

Hi Kerrie: You crack me up, fun share... love the tatoo! I love Marilyn too! My dining room table is now covered with old photo's. I'm trying to organize but end up creating a bunch of miscellaneous categories which defeats the purpose so I start over...

What a great contest and what a fabulous tatoo of those iconic lips and beauty mark!  Do you stand on subway grates?

Keerie,

I used to do puzzles with my Dad as a child, and we would stay up till the wee hours finishing them.  I am always amazed by the Marilyn Monroe effect, and how she is so much in our lives sitll.  Our wedding photographer is the son of the man who took her photo nude on the red satin sheet.  She was a beauty. Kerrie, so we have a couple of things in common.  We both love the Yankees, and cause anyone or anything with sensitive hearing to run away when we sing :)

I can relate to family first above all else. I don't have an especially great voice either, but love to sing.  I don't drink either (but that's because I don't particularly carre for the taste of it) and I enjoy doing puzzles too (when the kitchen table is not available I do them on-line).

Kerrie -- I had noticed you had a name change so I came over to your profile to see what's up. Congrats on your recent marriage!, Then I kept reading and found out you're MM obsessed. Well, I can't say I am obsessed BUT I CAN say that I met her personally twice and had a conversation both times. I'll have to tell you about it sometime. I was devastated when she died as the second time I saw her was only a short time before her death. I was totally shocked because she was so sweet and friendly and certainly didn't seem, to me anyway, that she had any issues but rather someone who was happy and was not in a depressed state of mind. Hmmmmm.

I don't know if you read my present but I love to sing too. I bet we all do. In any case I love puzzles too. My parents in their old age started working them having nothing else they could do. The entire family got addicted!

I guess we are not so far apart in likes and dislikes!

Kerrie, Still a Yankees fan even though you are 3000 miles away, that is allegiance. Marilyn Monroe surprises me but hey I like puzzles and would love to help on that puzzle. I would do here mouth and eyes even before the borders. Great share.

Oh BTW, I have to report that renegade Bob S is a rule breaker and cannot be made to follow the rules. He may try to coerce you into giving him points for his post but be strong Girl and don't let him charm you into it.

I love puzzles, too and you're right, they are so calming.  I should do one soon.  But, I'm afraid these cats will knock off all the pieces or hide some.  My other cat just used to sit in the box.

Joanna - Every chance I get!

Barbara - Wow...you must tell me everything!  Did she really walk like she was wading through honey?  Did she smell like Chanel No. 5?  Twice?  Oh my!

Debbie - He must not have read the rules correctly.  And we all know he is a stickler for rules!!  :)

Hella - Kathy Schowe had sent me a photo card of her, love it!  And of course they're white!  hahaha

Fred - I do remember and if I remember correctly I believe I participated, not sure as it was such a long time ago.

Loved your list Kerrie and congratulations on your recent marriage and on 2 years of sobriety! You are certainly a loyal New Yorker - loving the Yankees and marrying someone named La Guardia. I'm with you on the calming aspect of puzzles and even blogged about my affinity for them here some time ago.

Kerrie- Don't you just love this challenge of "10 things"!  Favorite MM movie  of mine is "How to Marry a Millionaire";  I think Theresa on H. of NJ is beyond words ditzy.  Love this!

Kerrie -- You would not have recognized her as she was dressed incognito and she surely left the Chanel at home. Before I was introduced to her and actually saw her, I was expecting this glamour girl. Quite the opposite. She was so very 'sweet' and cordial. I will have to tell you about it. I can still hear her voice........

This was a really nice contest run by Debbie Reynolds. It was so nice to learn so much more about our Active Rain family.

Your comment #1 made me go back and find your wedding posts - wedding and honeymoon photos and planning post - what a treat.  I know I have said it in my last 3 comments, but 'Congratulations' again!!!

#2 - That is nice to know :)

#4 - I lived my first 39 years about 2 hours from Yankee Stadium. In my early to mid 20's, I must have gone to about 6-8 Yankee games per summer. But my best Yankee memory was when I was 8 years old when Reggie Jackson hit 4 home runs on 4 consecutive pitches in Game 5 and 3 home runs on 3 consecutive pitches in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series and earned the nickname Mr. October. Best moments in baseball, in my humble opinion :)

#7 - Love playing volleyball and #10 - Puzzles are very relaxing.

Its been great getting to know you better Kerrie!

I'm not sure I knew much of that...except the marriage part. I admire you for not drinking, especially at your age. I find my generation has lost all sense of moderation, and I believe yours is worse. I rarely drink and I never miss it when I don't.
