Kerrie's Blog: Springtime MeetUp Success - 2014

Springtime MeetUp Success - 2014

We broke the MeetUp record!!  The previous record was 48 MeetUps and this last round brought in over 50 with almost 300 Rainers in attendance!  I cannot express how much this means to me.  The official AR MeetUps began in Fall of 2011 and obviously they are still GOING STRONG!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the hosts that so graciously volunteered their time and efforts making these happen.  You didn't have to, you could have easily said "I can't I'm too busy, there are not enough hours in the day" but you didn't.  You know how important the AR fam bam is and you stepped up.  I thank you a million times over.

To all the attendees that made it out, thank you as well!  There would be no party unless you showed up so we are ecstatic that you saw the benefit and blocked the time off in your schedule to make it happen.  Many of you are new to the AR family and it excites me that one of your first experiences was a MeetUp.  Great things happen when Rainers get together!

And now, it's time for the fun stuff!  I mentioned in my announcement post that we'd be doing a little raffle for tshirts and free RainMakers for life.  I have 8 tshirt winners and 5 Rainmaker winners.

Drumroll please.....

ActiveRain Tshirt Winners

  1. Karen Winters
  2. John Arendsen
  3. Donna Foerster
  4. Sondra Meyer
  5. Christi Farrington
  6. Lisa Friedman
  7. Will Hamm
  8. Randy Mitchelson

RainMaker Winners

  1. Martin Goldsmith
  2. Kathy Lakowitz
  3. Barbie Van Horn
  4. Dan Mincher
  5. Cecelia Cosgrove

Thank you again, did I already say that? :)  Our next round of Summer MeetUps will be in July or August!

All the meetups I read about sounded like a lot of fun.  We have met several AR members whenever we have traveled, and each one has been a delight.  Wishing you a great week, and congrats to all the winners. A

Kerrie, I had so much fun doing ours that I'm even trying to see if I can pull off an AR Trulia Meetup. Here's the link:

Any/all ideas, suggestions or help on your end is always welcomed. So far no one has replied. But I do think that now that we are all one big HAPPY FAMILY. We should get to know each other.

I've met and gotten to know a lot of really great folks on both sites and think we should get to know one another. However, Trulia has never been as proactive as has AR when it comes to actual face to face events.

I've  been away for a while. Is there some place to find out when or where the meet ups are scheduled?  Thanks!

John - More power to you!  Send it out to your sphere and see if anyone bites.  It would be a great time I'm sure.

Chris - Welcome back!  MeetUps happen once every season and there isn't an official list out there.  I do my best to get the word out via blog posts, Daily Drop, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.  Stay tuned for the Summer round in either July or August.

That is so cool. And so cool that Kathy Lakowitz won free membership for life. She is a new agent, so she can really use that.

One of these days, I hope to get a free Active Rain Shirt.  Not sure what else I need to do to earn one LOL.  I even went to Raincamp.  - Debbie G.

Women of Westchester Working Together, try paying a visit to AR HQ sometime. My wife, Janis and I were on a trip to Seattle visiting family and friends and look what happened:

Kerrie and the whole gang were very warm and freindly and they wouldn't let us leave without two very nice long sleeve T Shirts and two umbrellas which have since trotted the globe with us both keeping us warm and dry. LOL!

John - Yes, that is doable if you are on West Coast.  I'm here in NY and have only been to Seattle once. Nonetheless I have gone to RainCamp and met Kerrie and Bob (and spoken to them on the phone), and I've host tons of meetups and gone to many others and invited many new members.  So, I get this place.

Good looking bunch of smiling faces from the AR family. You hunt and peck enough side buy side from the same state or many away and friendships happen naturally. And grow.
